Blue Jays roll past Bombers, move to 8-0

Stanley – What a night for the Stanley Boys Basketball team. The Blue Jays took care of business against a solid Berthold Bombers team, Kaedyn Hanson eclipsed the 1000th point mark, and Wyatt Hanson had 5 dunks!

Kaedyn Hanson eclipsed the 1000th point mark early in the second half, the senior standout finished with 20 points. Not only did he have an excellent night offensively, he got the crowd on their feet when he hit the deck multiple times, hustling for loose balls.

Wyatt Hanson also had himself quite a night. The senior had five rim rattling dunks. He finished with a stuffed stat line: 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.

Berthold was scrappy and made the Blue Jays earn the victory. Junior Tommy Burke and senior Reese Hennessy had strong performances for the Bombers.

The Blue Jays had a pretty good handle on the game throughout but got a bit of scare when Berthold clawed to within 13 points with 6 minutes left, but the Blue Jays would respond and put the game out of reach once and for all.

Stanley received some swarming defensive play from Seth Hetzel and Roderick McIntosh, the duos length really rattled the Bombers offense.

Senior Matt Patten chipped in 17 points for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays move to 8-0 with the win and will face Westhope-Newburg on Friday.
