Stanley girls net 3rd place in Tioga

Tioga- Stanley powered by Burke County 74-42 to capture 3rd place in the Tioga tip-off tournament. Burke county jumped out 15-12 1st quarter lead, but it would be all Blue Jays after that. The Blue Jays exploded for 24 second quarter points and glided to a 15 point lead at halftime, Burke County would get no closer and the Blue Jays continued to expand on their lead throughout the 2nd half.

Sophmore Abby Iverson pointed to a couple of adjustments as the primary reason for the dramatic improvement in the second quarter. “We changed things up defensively and offensively, we put more pressure on the ball, which led to more turnovers,” said Iverson.
