Blue Jays silence Honkers in girls hoops

Kenmare – The Stanley Blue Jays picked up a key district 16 victory over the Kenmare Honkers on Tuesday.

This battle featured two teams that should have plenty to say about who is crowned district champion in a few weeks, the Blue Jays were able take this battle 58-44.

Both teams applied heavy defense pressure, pressure that at times made offense difficult to come by. The Blue Jays were eventually able to break the Honkers press and create enough turnovers defensively to pull away from the Honkers down the stretch.

Sophmore Abby Iverson paced the Blue Jays balanced offensive attack, she had 20 points. Senior Maddie Meiers had 11 points, sophomore Caitlyn Enger had 10 points for the Blue Jays.

The Stanley Blue Jays travel to Sherwood on Thursday to take on M-L-S.
