Blue Jays soar past Eagles in girls basketball

Stanley – The Stanley Blue Jays put up 30 points in the first quarter en route to a 85-73 win over the New Town Eagles.

Things seemed to be tilted heavily in the Blue Jays favor from the opening tip as they raced out to a seemingly safe 30-12 first quarter lead, a lead that would expand to 24 points at half time.

New Town was able to rally a bit in the second half despite being short handed, they would end up cutting the halftime deficit in half by the end of the game.

The Blue Jays received another huge performance from sophomore Abby Iverson who poured in a game high 31 points. All 5 Blue Jay starters finished with double digit points, senior Megan Mills added 18 points for Stanley.

The Stanley Blue Jays host the Watford City Wolves on Tuesday.
