Stanley uses huge 2nd half to edge New Town in boys hoops

Stanley – The Stanley Blue Jays exploded in the second half en route to a 92-62 victory over the New Town Eagles.

Stanley actually trailed at by one point at half time and it looked as though the fans would be in for another climactic finish. The Blue Jays had other plans and after their 27-10 3rd quarter run, any thought of a nail-biting finish was effectively eliminated.

Stanley was able kept the Eagles defense off balance, especially in the second half. “The guys executed the game plan very well for all but about 4 minutes,” said Stanley Blue Jays coach Kory Anderson. “We wanted to push the ball when we had a chance but play inside out and be patient if we couldn’t get a layup in transition. We lived in the paint. Very unselfish basketball tonight and it paid off.”

The Hanson duo led the way offensively for the Blue Jays tonight. Sophomore Wyatt Hanson had 22 points, while fellow  sophomore Kaedyn Hanson added 20 for the Blue Jays. Juniors Logan Aadness, Ryan Nesheim, and Jath Mansfeild all scored in double figures for Stanley.
