Watford City tops Stanley in girls hoops

Stanley – The Watford City Wolves demonstrated why they are ranked #7 in the state with a 83-42 win over the Stanley Blue Jays on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jays were able to hang with the Wolves for the first quarter but it would be all Watford City after that. The Wolves were able to go on a 28-10 run to close out the first half.

Stanley was paced offensively by senior Lacey Meiers and sophomore Abby Iverson, both players had 10 points for the Blue Jays.

Watford City senior Lea Arndt scored a game high 28 points.

The Stanley Blue Jays host the Powers Lake Ranchers on Thursday.
