Killdeer – The Stanley Blue Jays picked up a 74-63 road win over the Killdeer Cowboys on Monday.
The Blue Jays used 11 first quarter points from senior Bray Meyer to jump out to a 26-12 lead. The Cowboys would climb back and close the gap to 6 points after the third quarter, but they would get no closer.
“First quarter we played as well as we possibly could offensively and defensively,” said Stanley Blue Jays coach Kory Anderson. “After that it was a bit up and down with good play mixed with poor execution. It was good for our kids to be in a closely contested 4th quarter.”
Sophomore Kaedyn Hanson had 23 points to lead the Stanley Blue Jay attack. Junior Jath Mansfield pitched in 15 points, while Meyer added 14 points for Stanley.
Stanley improves to 10-2 overall with the win and extends their winning streak to 5 games.
The Stanley Blue Jays host the Parshall Braves on Friday.
