Stanley tops Ray in boys hoops

Stanley standout sophomore Wyatt Hanson followed up his 32 point performance against the Parshall Braves last night with a 33 point performance against Ray.

The Blue Jays (11-3) bounced back after a difficult game against Parshall the night before. It may not have been a perfect game for Stanley, but they are confident that they will have everything dialed in for the stretch run of their season.

“Defensively we didn’t play our best game,” said Stanley Blue Jay coach Kory Anderson. “As a coach I take full responsibility of the poor defensive play. I tell my kids before every game that better teams get beat every day, and today I didn’t coach like that. We have a few weeks before the real season begins and we’ll be ready for that.”

Junior Jath Mansfield added 14 points for the Blue Jays, including 8 in the fourth quarter.

The Stanley Blue Jays travel to North Shore on Tuesday.

The complete box score for tonight’s game between the Stanley Blue Jays and the Ray Jays can be found on the NDBASKETBALLHUB.

    • We would love to cover Stanley Wrestling, unfortunately we haven’t been able to connect with a coach or team manager to provide us with the dual/triangular/tournament results. If you have some contact information for someone who could help with this information shortfall, please email us at StanleyGazette@gmail.com

  1. When I saw the first article on girls’ basketball on the Stanley Gazette, I thought wow this is really nice. Within hours of a game, a person can see some stats and comments from the game by coaches and players. I already knew Ian Grande so I asked him some more about it. He is a one man band right now and cannot make all athletic events but does an excellent job publishing the information he is provided. So I told him I would provide score updates and a final score sheet after boys’ basketball games that he cannot make. I also would love to see more updates on the wrestling events. Is there a fan or parent that would be willing to help out and get the information to Ian? Especially with Regions and State Tournaments coming up, it would be great to keep better track of the Stanley athletes and how they are doing. His number is 701-261-7659.
