Blue Jays top Mavericks in boys basketball

Stanley – The Stanley Blue Jays were able to pick up a 58-39 win over the M-L-S Mavericks on senior day.

Blue Jays seniors Bray Meyer, Matthew Dusek, Matthew Heidbreder, Kellen Enget, and Ian Kimberlin all started tonight.

Stanley was able to jump out to an early lead and never looked back, the Blue Jays expanded on a 29-14 halftime lead to glide away from the Mavericks.

Sophomore sensation Wyatt Hanson lead the BlueJays with a game high 25 points. Senior Bray Meyer added 11 points, junior Logan Aadnes chipped in 10 points for the Blue Jays .

The Blus Jays had a solid effort against the Mavericks, but could tighten a few things up offensively. “Our defense was good, offensively we took too many outside shots when they weren’t falling and had too many unforced errors,” said Stanley Blue Jays head coach Kory Anderson.

Stanley will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they host the Kenmare Honkers who are 13-3 on the season. “We’re going to have to play our best ball Tuesday night against Kenmare in order to be successful,” said Anderson.

The Stanley Blue Jays move to 13-3 on the season.
