Jamestown – The Stanley Blue Jays Boys Golf team was in action today at the Class B Boys State Golf Tournament in Jamestown.
Blue Jay sophomore Quayde Lee paced Stanley with a 79 in the first round. Lee shot a front nine 40 and followed it up with a back nine 39, he is tied for 7th and is seven strokes back of the leader Jake Preston from Hillsboro.
Seth Hetzel added a first round 91 for the Blue Jays. Connor Borud and Riley Iverson rounded out the Blue Jays scorers with a 93 and 94 respectively.
Jack Wilhelmi 97 and Austin Ellis 100 also participated for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays are in seventh place as a team after the first round. Stanley posted a first round 357 as a team (top 4 scores) and trail the leaders Northern Lights by 32 shots. Tioga sits in 5th place, the Pirates trail Northern Lights by 12 strokes.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow.
