Stanley – This season didn’t start exactly how Stanley had hoped last weekend, fortunately tonight volleyball match against Burke County went much smoother for the young Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays were able to close out the first two games after jumping out to early leads in both sets. The third set would prove to be a little harder earned for Stanley. The Blue Jays were forced to rally back from an early 6 point deficit en-route to a 25-20 win in the 3rd set.
The Titans struggled to come up with an answer for Stanley junior Abby Iverson, who demonstrated both power and finesse throughout the night. Another bright spot for the Blue Jays was sophomore Hayley Schmidt, who showed that she has some serious power as well. Those two could be a formidable 1-2 punch for the Blue Jays as this season rolls on.
