Blue Jays glide by Pirates in prep volleyball.

Tioga – The Stanley Blue Jay Volleyball team was able to rally back from an early first set deficit to defeat the Tioga Pirates 3-0 win in District 16 volleyball action.

The first set may have had a little drama but it was pretty much all Blue Jays after that. Stanley was able to take the final two sets by an identical 25-12 . Once the Blue Jays settled in it was apparent that the fierce hitting of Abby Iverson, Hayley Schmidt, and Kaitlyn Lindberg would be too much for the Pirates to overcome.

Freshman Taylor Dean added a game high 20 assists for Stanley, while junior Abby Iverson had a game high 13 kills to lead the Blue Jays.

Kills: Iverson 13, Schmidt 7, Lindberg 6, Meyer 1

Assists: Dean 20, Lindberg 3

They Blue Jays will be back in action on September 20th when they host Trinity Christian.
