Wolves hold off Blue Jays in prep football

Stanley – The Stanley Blue Jays were narrowly edged by the Watford City Wolves in West Region Class AA football action.

The Blue Jays found themselves down 18-0 in the second quarter before Blue Jay senior Logan Aadnes scored the first of two touchdowns, the Blue Jays were able to add the two-point conversion as well to cut the lead to 10 points with just over 3 minutes to go in the first half.

Watford City would connect on a long touchdown to Brett Skarda early in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 16 points.

The Blue Jays would rally late behind back to back touchdowns by Aadnes and Dalton Brown to close the lead to 4 points. Following a Watford City fumble with just over a minute left, the Blue Jays found themselves deep in Watford City terrority with a chance to win but a last second throw would fall just out of reach for the Blue Jays.
