Stanley – The Watford City Wolves were able pick up a road win over the Stanley Blue Jays in North Dakota Region 8 Volleyball action.
The Wolves and Blue Jays found themselves in a tight first set until Watford City pulled away late en route to 25-17 first set victory. That momentum carried over into the second set where the Wolves jumped out to a 15-6 lead, but the Blue Jays would claw their way back following a series of strong serves from sophomore Haley Schmidt. The comeback would be short lived however and the Wolves would close out the Blue Jays 25-15 in the second set.
The Blue Jays found themselves in a deep hole to start the 3rd set and weren’t able to come back and force a fourth set, falling by a score of 25-15.
Stanley was paced offensively by junior Abby Iverson, she had a team high 9 kills.
First Set: Watford 25, Stanley 17
Second Set: Watford 25, Stanley 15
Third Set: Watford 25, Stanley 15
The Stanley Blue Jays will be hosting the Ray Jays on Thursday in District 16 volleyball action.
