Ray picks up District 16 win over Stanley

Stanley – The Ray Jays were able to come away with a road victory over the Stanley Blue Jays in Distict 16 volleyball action.

Stanley was able to put up a strong fight for the first half of the first set before the Ray Jays pulled away to win 25-15.

Ray jumped out to a large 24-8 lead in the second set. Stanley would come up with a late run, but would ultimately fall 25-15 in the second set as well.

The third set was pretty even through first 8 points but Ray pulled away with ease en route to a 25-13 win.

Stanley Blue Jay Jossi Meyer lead the Blue Jays offensively with 3 kills. Meyer also gave the Ray Jays offense fits with her length, the freshman had a team high two blocks.

The Ray Jays figure to be in the mix for the District 16 crown with the Kenmare Honkers, the two teams are both undefeated in District 16 play.

Scores: Ray 25-15, Ray 25-15, Ray 25-13

Kills: J. Meyer 3, Abby Iverson 2, Kassie Meyer 2

The Blue Jays travel to Des Lacs for a Tournament on Saturday.
