North Dakota Class A Football Playoff preview

The North Dakota Class A football playoffs kick off on Oct. 22nd. Here is a preview of what you can expect to see:

We will be providing updates of these games so check back to see the scores on gameday.

Langdon- Munich (7-1)  (Region 2 #2) 

vs. Oct. 22

Carrington (4-4) (Region 1 #3) 

These teams faced each other on Sept. 9th, Langdon-Munich won 32-20 in Carrington.

Langdon- Munich’s only lose this season was at home vs. Larimore (47-14) on Oct. 7th.

Winner will face Northern Cass (7-1) (Region 1 #1)  on Oct. 29th


Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm (6-2) (Region 1 #2) 

vs. Oct. 22nd

Park River/Fordville-Lankin (6-2) (Region 2 #3) 

Winner will face Larimore (8-0) (Region 2 #1) on Oct. 29th

Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm lost to Larimore 49-23 on Sept. 9th in Larimore.  Park River/Fordville-Lankin lost to Larimore 40-0 in Park River on Sept. 16th

Larimore is the only team to defeat Class AA Hillsboro/Central Valley this season.

Killdeer (6-2) (Region 4 #2) 

vs. Oct. 22nd

Velva-Sawyer (6-2) (Region 3 #3)

Winner will play Des Lacs- Burlington (6-2) (Region 3 #1) on Oct. 29th

Des Lacs- Burlington beat Killdeer 25-12 on Sept. 2nd in Killdeer, Velva-Sawyer beat Des-Lacs Burlington 16-8 in Velva on Oct. 14th.

Velva/Sawyer outscored their first 3 opponents 144-0 this season. Velva/Sawyer’s only losses were (37-12 to Bishop Ryan (Sept 16th) and 27-26 to Berthold (Sept. 30th))

Velva/Sawyer needed a to beat Des-Lacs Burlington in the last game of the season to qualify for the playoffs.


Minot Bishop Ryan (7-1) (Region 3 #2) 

vs. Oct. 22nd

Heart River (3-5)  (Region 4 #3) 

Winner will play Hazen (6-2) (Region 4 #1) on Oct. 29th

Bishop Ryan’s only defeat this season was Des Lacs- Burlington 22-20 on Sept. 30th.

Hazen’s only losses were to Beulah (Class AA) (33-6) in Beulah and to Southern Mclean (20-18) on Oct.14th.
