North Dakota Football Quarterfinal Roundup (“AA”, “A”, “9-Man”)

 

The North Dakota high school football playoffs were in full swing today. Here is a recap of the action:

North Dakota (9-Man) Quarterfinals

Four #1 seeds advanced to the semifinals in the North Dakota (9-man) football playoffs, the marquee match-up of the day was between Hankinson and Shiloh Christian. Hankinson took an 8-6 lead into halftime but couldn’t muster up another score, allowing the Skyhawks to pick up a 12-8 victory and advance to the semifinals.

North Dakota Class “A” Quarterfinals

The Des Lacs Burlington Lakers were able to avenge a late season loss to the Velva-Sawyer Aggies. Des-Lacs held a 18-8 lead in the fourth quarter before Velva-Sawyer scored a touchdown with 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 4pts. The Aggies would get the ball back again with a little more than 2 minutes left and a chance to win, but a fumble would spell the end of their comeback attempt. Des Lacs-Burlington moves on to face Minot Bishop Ryan who picked up a

North Dakota Class “AA” Quarterfinals

Bismarck St. Mary’s was able to pick up a convincing win over Central Cass to avoid an East Region sweep in the quarterfinals. St. Mary’s jumped out to a 21-6 halftime lead and cruised to  28-6 victory.

Defending Champing Beulah fell behind 28-6 at half against Kindred and weren’t able to claw back in the second half, falling 34-21.
