Stanley Blue Jays cruise to first round victory

Tioga – The Stanley Blue Jays glided to a 63-17 victory over the Burke County Titans in the opening round of the Tioga Tip Off Tournament.

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 36-13 halftime lead, junior Abby Iverson had 12 of her game high 20 points in the first half. Stanley would play excellent team defense in the second half. The Blue Jays held the Titans to just 4 2nd half points, while piling in 27 of their own.

Senior Caitlyn Enger scored 10 points for the Blue Jays. Taylor Dean, Hannah Sorenson, and Sydney Larson added 8 points each for Stanley.

Stanley was an impressive 17-23 from the free-throw line.

Other Notes:

The Blue Jays will take on the Powers Lake Ranchers in the semifinals on Saturday at 3pm.
