Kenmare tops Powers Lake in boys hoops, Ranchers grab road victory over Pirates

Powers Lake – The defending Region 8 champion Kenmare Honkers picked up a key District 16 victory over  the Powers Lake Ranchers.

Both teams came into the game with only one loss on the season and the winner of the game would control their own destiny for the District 16 regular season crown.

The Honkers move to 11-1 with the win, the team received votes in the latest Class B Basketball poll. This was the Ranchers first District 16 loss, they are now 8-2 overall.

Senior Logan Klitzke paced the Ranchers offensively with 19 points. Sophomores Aiden Nordloef and Kyle Van Berkom both scored in double figures for the Ranchers scoring 17 and 11 respectively.

The Ranchers host Alexander today (Friday), The Honkers host Ray on Tuesday (24th).

Ranchers grab road victory over Pirates

The Powers Lake Ranchers picked up a District 16 win over the Tioga Pirates on Tuesday, the win was their 7th win in a row.  Sophomore Aiden Nordloef paced the Ranchers with a game high 24 points.

Senior Logan Klitzke picked up a double-double for the Ranchers, scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
