Stanley’s Aadnes signs letter of intent to Dickinson State

Stanley – Stanley Blue Jay standout Logan Aadnes has committed to play college football at Dickinson State University.

The Blue Jay senior was an All-State football selection this season, as well as an All-District selection last year in basketball.

Over the past two seasons Aadnes has demonstrated that he can score from anywhere on the field, something that the Dickinson State Football coaches are excited to bring to their team. “Logan is a very good athlete, said Dickinson State Football Head Coach Pete Stanton. He plays very hard and was explosive when the ball was in his hands as a running back.”

The Dickinson State coaching staff got a few looks at Aadnes last season and they were impressed with what they saw, “What stood out to us, was that he played hard on every snap and every game, said Dickinson State Football Offensive Coordinator Jace Schollinger.  We got a chance to watch him first-hand here in their game against Dickinson Trinity.  I thought he was one of the better players on the field.  If you watch him play against Des Lacs – Burlington, who had a really great year, he single-handedly kept them in the game and really made some really good runs and plays.”

Aadnes excelled on both sides of the ball but it looks like the Blue Hawks will have him playing running back to start his career, but his versatility will keep other options open as well. “We see Logan fitting in at a few different positions possibly, but we will begin with him at running back, said Coach Schollinger.

Those thoughts were echoed by Coach Stanton, “He also had a great year on defense. He fits the bill of guys that we love to have on our team with his versatility and passion for the game.“

The fact that Aadnes is an excellent student and also a standout basketball player opened up a lot of college options for him. This made the news of his signing with the Blue Hawks even more exciting for the Blue Hawk coaching staff.  “We are excited that he chose Dickinson State, as he could have went to some other places, said Schollinger. He is also a really good person and that is the most important thing on our team.”

Aadnes will join former Stanley Blue Jay athletes Jayd Rice and Sam Footh on the Dickinson Blue Hawks roster.

The Blue Hawks are coming off of a strong season last year where they finished with a 9-3 record (6-0 in conference). The Blue Hawks also earned a berth in the NAIA playoffs last season.
