Iverson pours in 34 points, Blue Jays top Mavericks

Stanley -Stanley Blue Jay Abby Iverson exploded for a career high 34 points, propelling the Blue Jays to a 72-58 victory over the Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Mavericks. Iverson was dominant throughout the game, the junior hit two 3-pointers and picked up a handful of 3 point plays the old fashioned way.

The Mavericks were able to keep the game tight throughout most of the game, but the Blue Jays were able to play swarming team defense down the stretch, causing several key turnovers.

Solid foul shooting also helped the Blue Jays seal the victory, Stanley ended 14-20 from the line, going 6-7 in the final quarter. The Blue Jays also shot well from beyond the arc pouring in six 3-pointers as a team.

Haley Schmidt, Danae Vachal, Taylor Dean and Caitlyn Enger all chipped in 8 points for the Blue Jays.

Skylar McLain paced the Mavericks with 21 points.

Stanley moves to 7-9 on the season, the Blue Jays will host Trenton on Tuesday (31st).
