Watford City, New Town advance to District 15 Championship

Watford City –  The Watford City Wolves jumped out to an early lead and they would hold on for a 51-39 victory over the Trenton Tigers. Junior Avery Sundeen led the way for the Wolves by hitting a game high five 3-pointers, she had a team high 17 points.

Trenton freshman Kaity Hove lead all scorers with 21 points.

The Wolves will face New Town in the Championship game tomorrow night at 7:30pm.

Trenton will face North Shore/Plaza for a spot in the Region 8 Tournament.

Watford City – The New Town Eagles were able to hold off second half charge by the Parshall Braves to advance to the District 15 Championship game. The Eagles jumped out to 41-18 halftime lead, the Braves would make a bit of a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Eagles 41-26 in the second half.

The Eagles were paced by sophomore Tyleigh Brady and junior Caitlyn Tveter, the duo combined for 35 points. Tveter was an impressive 9-10 from the free throw line.

Senior Sheridyn Packineau poured in a game high 20 points to lead the Braves.

The Eagles will face Watford City in the District 15 Championship game. The Parshall Braves will play Mandaree for a berth in the Region 8 Tournament.
