Ray – The Stanley Blue Jays secured a berth in the Region 8 Basketball Tournament by outlasting the Divide County Maroons 50-43.
Stanley Blue Jay junior Abby Iverson poured in a game high 23 points, she also hit a couple of free-throws late to help seal the victory. Iverson was named to the All-District and All-Tournament teams.
Senior Caitlyn Enger picked up a late basket to extend the lead to 6 points with under two minutes left in the game. Enger was named to the All-District team.
Another bright spot for the Stanley Blue Jays was Hayley Schmidt. The sophomore was a real catalyst for the Blue Jays tonight, coming up with multiple steals and rebounds to help the Blue Jays maintain their lead.
Lauryn Heide had an excellent tournament for the Maroons, she had a team high 15 points. The sophomore was an All-District and All-Tournament Selection for the Maroons. Senior Kate Sabe joined Heide on both the All-District and All Tournament Teams.

Taylor Dean was named to the All-Tournament team, the freshman poured in 20 points in the first round and provided a steady hand for the Blue Jays in both games.
The Stanley Blue Jays will face the New Town Eagles in the opening round of the Region 8 Tournament. The Eagles beat Watford City for the District 15 Championship tonight.
