Stanley – The Stanley Blue Jays picked up a convincing 80-58 win over the Burke County Titans in their final home game of the season.
The Blue Jays jumped out early and seemed to have all the momentum following a first quarter dunk from Wyatt Hanson that got the crowd going.
Kaedyn Hanson followed that up with a thunderous dunk of his own a little later in the half.
The Titans would rally a bit to pull the deficit back to only 5 points at halftime, but the Blue Jays would put the game away in convincing fashion in the third quarter.
Wyatt Hanson put an exclamation point on the 3rd quarter rally with another huge dunk. Matt Patten and Logan Aadnes also had some slick plays for the Blue Jays in the second half.
Another 2nd half highlight came when Senior Ryan Nesheim flew out of bounds to save a loose ball, leading to an easy Wyatt Hanson basket.Fellow senior Riley Iverson was able to convert a 4th quarter jumper to go out in style on senior night.
The Stanley Blue Jays clinched the #3 seed with their win tonight and they will face Tioga in the opening round of the District 16 Tournament, Burke County will be the #4 seed, they will face the Ray Jays in the opening round.
