Braves upset Eagles to advance to Region 8 Championship, Watford City cruises past Powers Lake

Watford City – The Parshall Braves punched their ticket into the Region 8 Basketball Championship game courtesy of a 72-50 victory over the New Town Eagles.

The Eagles jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game but it would be all Parshall from then on. Senior Lexi Tveter scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Braves.

Aulora Severance also had nice game for the Braves scoring 18 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.

The Braves will face the Watford City Wolves in the Championship game on Thursday. New Town will face Powers Lake in the 3rd place game on Thursday.

The Watford City Wolves led wire to wire enroute to 59-29 victory over the Powers Lake Ranchers.

The Wolves advance to the Region 8 Championship game, where they will face the Parshall Braves. Watford City won the only meeting with the Braves this season 57-34 (Jan. 31st).

Sophomore Lindsay Peterson poured in a game high 16 points to lead the Wolves, Avery Sundeen and Mackenzie Sparby both added 12 points for the Wolves as well.

The Wolves forced 25 turnovers in the game, which they cashed in for 23 points.

Senior Grace Hove led the Ranchers with 13 points.
