Quick Hits: Schmidt continues to thrive, Stanley Baseball heating up, Deer lottery open

Schmidt places 2nd at Summit Championship– Former Stanley Blue Jay standout Austin Schmidt took home second place in the Javelin at the Summit League Championships (202’ 4”) this weekend.

Schmidt is currently in his junior season at North Dakota State University. The Bison track team secured their 8th consecutive conference title.

Stanley Baseball team prepares for Regions– The Stanley Blue Jay Baseball team has ripped off five straight wins as they head into the Region 7 Baseball tournament.

Region 7 features one of the top teams in the state (Des Lacs-Burlington), the Lakers were ranked #3 in the latest MidcoSN poll.

*(Only one team from each region will advance to the state tournament)

The Blue Jays will host Lewis & Clark/Parshall in the opening round on Tuesday (16th) at 4:30 p.m.

North Dakota deer tag lottery is now open– Online applications for regular deer gun, youth, muzzleloader and resident gratis licenses can be found on the Game and Fish Department’s website at gf.nd.gov.

Paper applications will be at vendors throughout the state by mid-May. The deadline for applying is June 7.
