Bowman – Stanley High School graduate Kassie Meyer took home second place in the Breakaway Roping competition at the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association (NDHSRA) State Finals in Bowman.
The state finals capped off a stellar season on the North Dakota circuit for Meyer, where she finished third overall in the in the Breakaway Roping division. Thanks to her high finish, Meyer has earned a spot at the National Rodeo Finals in Gillette, Wyoming.
Anna Jorgenson of Watford City capped off an incredible North Dakota Rodeo season of her own. Jorgenson took home the All-Around championship. She took first in both the Breakaway Roping and Pole Bending. Jorgenson also finished in 2nd place in the Cow Cutting event.
Jorgenson was strong all season, winning the All-Around title and the Pole Bending Division. She also finished in 2nd place overall in the Breakaway Roping Division.
Jorgenson earned a spot at the National Rodeo finals as well.
Lakyn Bruhn of Stanley also had a strong showing at the State Finals, finishing in fourth place in the Pole Bending competition. Bruhn will be a sophomore at Stanley High School this upcoming year.
Makenna Sandstrom of Ray picked up the Girl’s Cow Cutting Title, while Nevada Bergquist of Watford City took first in the Team Roping competition. Sandstrom and Bergquist both qualified for the National Rodeo Finals.
The National Rodeo Finals will kick off on July 16th and go until July 22nd.
