Dolezal gearing up for the USATF Outdoor Championship

Sacramento – Stanley native Riley Dolezal is gearing up for the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championship in Sacramento, California.

The National Outdoor Championship has been good to Dolezal, he placed first in 2013, runner up in 2014 & 2015, and third in 2016.

He will be looking to qualify for the World Championships, which will take place in August in London. To qualify Dolezal will have to finish in the top 3 at Nationals and hit the minimum qualifying distance.

Fun facts about Riley Dolezal

-He still holds the North Dakota State High School Javelin record (208’ 3”)

-He is currently a member of “Team Nike”

-He currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach for North Dakota State, where he coaches fellow Stanley native Austin Schmidt.

-His winning throw at the 2013 Outdoor Championship was 30’ longer than his previous best.

-Dolezal holds the mark for longest javelin throw in the country this season (260’-4”).

-Dolezal has already competed at two World Championships in his career Moscow (2013) and Beijing (2015).

When: Starts June 22nd (Tomorrow). The Men’s Javelin Final is scheduled for Saturday (24th).
