Fargo – Former Stanley Blue Jay standout Austin Schmidt was named to the USTFCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Academic Team.
To qualify for the award, Schmidt had to carry a minimum of a 3.25 GPA and participate at the NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Championships. Schmidt finished with a 3.90 GPA to easily surpass that mark.
Schmidt was recently the subject of the article “JavelinTown USA“.
Four other Bison Track athletes joined Schmidt on the All-Academic Team (Ryan Enerson, Matti Mortimore, Alex Renner and Steffan Stroh).
