Stanley cruises past Burke County in District 16 volleyball action

Bowbells – The Stanley Blue Jays opened up district play with a convincing 3-0 win over the Burke County Titans.

Burke County pulled within two points of the Blue Jays late in the first set, but the Blue Jays would prevail and then glide through the second and third sets with ease.

The Blue Jays were paced offensively by senior Abby Iverson who picked up 21 kills. Iverson also picked up a team high 8 digs and 4 aces.

Sophomore Jossi Meyer and freshman Raygen Lee combined for 13 kills.

Jasmyn Giese picked up a team high 18 assists, sophomore Taylor Dean added 12 assists as well.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on September 5th when they travel to Lewis and Clark.
