North Dakota High School Boys Basketball Scoreboard: Blue Jays rally past Knights, move to 17-2

Minot – The Stanley Blue Jays closed out the regular season with a 70-65 road victory over Minot Our Redeemers.

The Blue Jays found themselves down by 13 points early in the third quarter, a deficit they would gobble up in short order. Senior Wyatt Hanson had 8 of 21 points during the Blue Jays 13-0 third quarter run.

Just when it looked like the Blue Jays had all of the momentum, the Knights went on a 10-0 run of their own to take a 59-50 lead early in the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays would rally again, and this time they wouldn’t look back. Stanley closed the game on a 20-6 run.

The Blue Jays hit their last 7 free-throws of the game, helping them to seal the deal.

Matt Patten paced the Blue Jays with 22 points, the senior was 4-5 from deep and 6-6 from the free-throw line.

Wyatt Hanson had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

The Blue Jays will open next week’s District 16 Tournament with a bye.
