Eagles claim Region 6 Golf Title, Blue Jays second

Stanley – The New Town Eagles took home the Region 6 Girls Golf Tournament title on Thursday.

The Stanley Blue Jays finished in second place, while the Des-Lacs Burlington Lakers finished in third.

*All three teams qualified for the North Dakota Class B State Golf Tournament, which will be held in Hankinson on the May 29th-30th.

New Town Senior Hope Froshaug braved some windy and wet conditions, claiming medalist honors with an 84.

Stanley senior Jasmyn Giese finished in second place with a 94. Fellow Blue Jay Mackenna Hanson earned All-Region honors as well by finishing 8th.

A pair of eighth-graders (Kaisa Mortenson and Caiti Hennessy) rounded out the top four scorers for the young Stanley Blue Jays team.
